Permutation Polynomial Interleaved DFT-s-OFDM

We propose frequency-domain interleaver for discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal division multiplexing (DFT-s-OFDM) based on a linear-or quadratic permutation polynomial (LPP/QPP). Interleaving the coefficients (i.e., DFT precoder output) implies that modulation symbols become transmitted over both time-and frequency domain, which is beneficial time-frequency selective channels. Despite single-carrier property lost due to interleaving, peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) can be improved. The results show QPP suppress error floor of bit/block rate (BER/BLER) occurs channels with large Doppler and simultaneously reduce PAPR. An LPP primarily decreases PAPR, especially BPSK, where gain several dB. derive criteria how analytically determine QPPs LPPs.
